India announce 30-man squad for preparatory camp

The Indian selectors have announced a list of 30 players who will take part in a preparatory camp in Bangalore from 21st to 27th of September ahead of the upcoming series against South Africa.

Indian limited-over matches captain MS Dhoni and Test captain Virat Kohli were named in the squad alongside players like Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma.

Fast bowler Mohammad Shami, who has been out of action since the 2015 World Cup after having to undergo knee surgery, is also included in the 30-man squad.

Also back on the selectors' radar is left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, who had to remodel his action after it was reported in a domestic game.

Youngsters like Lokesh Rahul, Karun Nair, Axar Patel, Karn Sharma, Dhawal Kulkarni and Manish Pandey have also been given a chance to impress.

The series against South Africa consists of three Twenty20 Internationals, five One-Day Internationals and four Test matches, which will be played during the months of October, November and early December.
