India have named their Test and One-Day International squads to tour New Zealand in January and February, with Yuvraj Singh omitted from the limited overs line-up.

Fast bowler Ishwar Pandey is named in both squads and hard-hitting all-rounder Stuart Binny - son of former international Roger - has been handed a call-up to the ODI squad.

India play New Zealand in a series of five ODIs from 19th to 31st January before two Tests beginning 7th and 14th February in Auckland and Wellington.

India lost the recent ODI series in South Africa 2-0 and have reacted by adding the uncapped Binny as well as fast bowlers Varun Aaron and Pandey to the squad and leaving out experienced batsman Yuvraj and young quick bowler Mohit Sharma.

Yuvraj batted once in South Africa, failing to score, but prior to that managed just 19 runs in four innings against Australia although he did hit 99 runs in three innings against the West Indies including one half-century.

Those runs have not been enough to keep his place in the squad and India have instead opted to take two uncapped players for a tour that will be seen as an important one ahead of the 2015 World Cup which is co-hosted by New Zealand.

Pandey, who has taken 131 first-class wickets in 31 matches (as well as 22 wickets in just 16 one-day games), also comes into a Test squad that shows just one change following a creditable away performance in South Africa despite the 1-0 defeat.

With spin less likely to be effective in New Zealand, left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is left out with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja charged with the slow-bowling duties.

Following the emergence of Jadeja as a genuine all-round option at Test level, Ojha has become increasingly sidelined. He has played just four times this year and has never played a Test outside of Bangladesh, India or Sri Lanka.
