India have left out all-rounder Hardik Pandya from the 16-man squad for the final two Tests against Australia to be played in Ranchi and Dharmasala.
Pandya has been struggling with a shoulder injury and remains the only change to the squad that levelled the series 1-1 against the visitors with a 75-run win in Bengaluru Test.
Opening batsman Murali Vijay, who was forced to miss the second Test with a shoulder injury has been retained and so does Abhinav Mukund, despite his scores of 0 and 16 in the Bengaluru game.
Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami, who have recovered from thigh and knee injuries respectively was not considered for selection to give them more time to prove their fitness at domestic level.
With the pitch in Ranchi expected to aid spin even more, India might turn for Jayant Yadav or might surprise the Australian batsmen by unleashing the left-arm wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav.
With both teams having won a game apiece, the series will shift to Ranchi on 16th March while the final Test in Dharmasala will be played between 25th and 29th March.
India squad for remaining two Tests:
Virat Kohli (captain), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinav Mukund, Karun Nair, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, M Vijay, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav
