India v NZ 2nd ODI: Dominant India seal the ODI series in style
India sealed the three-match ODI series against New Zealand with a eight-wicket win in the second ODI at Raipur on Saturday.
After being asked to bat, New Zealand was bowled out for 108 in 34.3 overs and in response India finished on 111 for two in 20.1 overs.
Earlier, New Zealand lost their top-order without much of a fight. They were reduced to 15 for five and seemed to be heading for a disastrous finish. Then there was a 41 run sixth wicket stand between Michel Bracewell and Glenn Phillips. There was another 47 run stand for the seventh wicket between Phillips and Mitchell Santner. Phillips was the top-scorer in the innings with 36. In the end New Zealand was bowled out for 108 in 34.3 overs. For India the main wicket-takers were Mohammed Shami (3-18), Hardik Pandya (2-16) and Washington Sundar (2-7).
In their response India's openers captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 72 in 14.2 overs. Sharma finished on 51 off 50 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes. Then Gill in the company of Ishan Kishan applied finishing touches to the chase. India finished on 111 for two in 20.1 overs.
