Injury ends Dwayne Bravo's Big Bash League campaign
West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will miss the remainder of the Big Bash League (BBL) campaign for Melbourne Renegades after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The injury happened during the ninth match of the tournament against Perth Scorchers while he was fielding in the boundary and was stretchered off the field.
The 33-year-old confirmed that he will be undergoing a surgery and will take a while before returning to action again.
"I'll now have surgery and the rehabilitation to get me fit and playing at my best again," said Bravo to the official site of BBL.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Renegades skipper Aaron Finch described the news as a big blow to the side.
"It's a huge blow, he's one of the best allrounders in the world. It's an unbelievably damaging blow for us, but also for him because we know how much he loves coming out here."
Bravo has picked two wickets and has scored 47 runs in the two matches he played in this season for Melbourne Renegades.
