IPL 2013 Spot-Fixing: Chennai Super Kings Official Arrested

Chennai Super Kings official Gurunuth Meiyappan has become the latest person connected with the Indian Premier League to be arrested and investigated for suspected links to illegal betting.
Current Rajasthan Royals players Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankit Chavan as well as former player Amit Singh were arrested last week along with a number of bookmakers as allegations of spot-fixing surfaced.
Under pressure Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President N Srinivasan, who also chairs India Cements, owners of Chennai Super Kings and is Meiyappan's father-in-law, has resisted calls for his own resignation.
The same Mumbai Police operation that arrested Meiyappan, who is an honorary member of Chennai's management team, was reported to be also investigating Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf, who was subsequently withdrawn from the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
Chennai Super Kings are set to take on Mumbai Indians in the final of the Indian Premier League 2013 tomorrow (26th May).
