Mumbai Indians registered an easy eight wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday night at the Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Quinton de Kock show - 78*(44)

After opting to bat under new captain Eoin Morgan, Kolkata struggled throughout their innings. Opener Shubman Gill tried to hold the innings together with a 21 off 23 balls. Later, Morgan added 87 runs for the sixth wicket with Pat Cummins (53: 36b, 5x4, 2x6). Kolkata finished on 148 for five in their 20 overs. The best bowler on view for Mumbai was Rahul Chahar (2-18).

The chase for Mumbai was quite easy. First Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma (35) added 94 for the opening wicket with Quinton de Kock (78 n.o.: 44b, 9x4, 3x6). Later, de Kock applied finishing touches to the chase with Hardik Pandya (21 n.o.). Mumbai overhauled the target in 16.5 overs to win by eight wickets and finished on 149 for two.
