Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli starred in his side's 37 run win over Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday night.

After opting to bat, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a modest 169 for four in their 20 overs. Opener Devdutt Padikkal (33) held the innings together. Later, captain Virat Kohli (90: 52b, 4x4, 4x6) took charge. He shared an unbroken 76 run fifth wicket stand with Shivam Dube (22 n.o.: 14b, 2x4, 1x6).

The best bowler for Chennai was Shardul Thakur (2-40).

The chase for Chennai never took off. For a while, Ambati Rayudu (42: 40b, 4x4) and Narayan Jagadeesan (33: 28b, 4x4) shared a 64 run third wicket stand. But the partnership never had any momentum. Thereafter there was a collapse and the entire chase fell apart. The best bowler for Bangalore were Chris Morris (3-19) and Washington Sundar (2-16). Chennai finished on 132 for eight in their 20 overs.
