IPL 2020 mid-season transfer window: Players who can be traded between franchises
With the IPL reaching it's half-way stage on Monday, October 12, the IPL 2020 mid-season transfer window has been opened to allow franchises to get their team combinations right.
On the lines of football's transfer window, the BCCI had allowed franchises to transfer players between each other in 2019. However, it was only applicable to uncapped players. This was the biggest reason why no franchise opted for it.
This year, the mid-season transfer has been extended to capped players as well. With all teams desperate to get their team combination right, franchises are expected to avail the window this time.
The franchise will have to follow certain guidelines and regulations introduced by the BCCI to make use of the transfer window. The eligibility criteria for the mid-season transfer window is as follows:
- The mid-season transfer will only happen at the half-way mark, with all the IPL franchises having played seven games each.
- The player will be eligible for the mid-season transfer only if he has played less than two games at the time of the transfer.
- The transfer will take place only with the consent of the player concerned.
