IPL 2020: Warner, Saha take Hyderabad into playoffs
Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets to claim a spot in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday night in the final league match.
Asked to bat, Mumbai posted a modest 149 for eight in their 20 overs. The key initial contributors for Mumbai were Quinton de Kock (25), Suryakumar Yadav (36) and Ishan Kishan (33). Later towards the end Kieron Pollard used the long handle to good effect. Pollard finished on a brisk 41 off 25 balls with two boundaries and four sixes. The best bowlers for Hyderabad were Sandeep Sharma (3-34), Jason Holder (2-25) and Shahbaz Nadeem (2-19).
The chase for Hyderabad was fashioned by a terrific opening partnership between captain David Warner and wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha.
Warner ended unbeaten on 85 off 55 balls with 10 boundaries and a six. Saha on the other hand finished on an unbeaten 58 off 45 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Hyderabad finished on 151 for no loss in 17.1 overs.
