Delhi Capitals' last match against Punjab Kings came as close to being called off as it can be without being actually cancelled after six members in their camp tested positive for COVID-19.

Live Scores and Stats - IPL 2022 DC vs RR, 34th Match

Marsh hospitalized, Seifert tests positive as well

The positive results included two overseas players in Mitchell Marsh and Tim Seifert. The former actually had to be hospitalized after he showed symptoms of COVID-19.

Most of the other affected are asymptomatic including physiotherapist Patrick Farhart, sports massage therapist Chetan Kumar, team doctor Dr Abhijeet Salvi and social media content team member Akash Mane.

Delhi overcome adversity

Despite a lot of uncertainty and negativity, Delhi Capitals did not allow it to affect them. They had to make one forced change with Mitchell Marsh not available and brought in Sarfaraz Khan in his place.

But, it was their bowlers who won them the match dismissing Punjab Kings for just 150. Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel were the standout bowlers for them and picked up two wickets each.

Kuldeep Yadav also took two from his 4 overs.

Shaw, Warner in red-hot form

DC openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warner finished the match in a hurry, recording the highest powerplay total of IPL 2022. They added 83 runs for the opening partnership.

While Shaw was dismissed on 41 off 20 deliveries, going at a strike rate of 205, David Warner remained unbeaten on 60 off 30 balls with 10 boundaries and one six.

Changes work for Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals made as many as three changes to their playing XI in their last match, bringing in Karur Nair, Obed McCoy and the fit-again Trent Boult in place of Rassie van der Dussen, Kuldeep Sen and Jimmy Neesham.

The changes worked for them as they won a hard-fought encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs. The stars for them were centurion Jos Butler and Yuzvendra Chahal who picked up his maiden IPL 5-wicket haul, including a hat-trick.
