Live Scores and Stats - IPL 2022 PBKS vs DC, 64th Match
Punjab still alive
Punjab have kept themselves in the mix after they not only earned two valuable points following their 54-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match but the margin of the win ensured that they boosted their net run rate as well.
The team currently stands at the 6th spot with 6 wins and 6 losses from 12 matches and if they can win their next two games by decent margins, the team should make it to the playoffs.
It was a bold move by captain Mayank Agarwal to vacate his opening slot and bat at number 5 against RCB.
Bairstow, Livingstone shine
Jonny Bairstow, who hadn't been able to fire in the season, got his preferred spot at the top of the order and delivered right away, making 66 of just 29 deliveries with 4 boundaries and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 227.59 as he took Josh Hazlewood apart.
Liam Livingstone too is beginning to realize his potential and smashed a 42-ball 70 as Punjab breached the 200 run total in their last match against RCB and won comfortably. The stars with the ball for them were Kagiso Rabada, Rishi Dhawan and Rahul Chahar.
Marsh finally delivers
Likewise, Delhi Capitals also registered a comprehensive victory in their last match, beating Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets with almost 2 overs to spare.
Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje and Mitchell Marsh were among the wickets for DC. It was all-rounder Marsh who starred with the bat as well, making a 62-ball 89 at strike rate of 143. David Warner also played a key hand of an unbeaten 52 off 41 deliveries.
Delhi live to fight another day
Just like Punjab, Delhi have also won 6 out of their 12 matches but have a better net run rate.
If they go on to win their next two matches, they should qualify for the playoffs quite comfortably.
