IPL 2022 RR vs RCB, 13th Match Preview: Hard-fought encounter likely between closely-matched RR, RCB
The newly-wed Glen Maxwell has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp but is unlikely to be available for the match against Rajasthan Royals.
RCB not clinical, but good enough
Bangalore have not been quite clinical enough in both their matches in IPL 2022 till now, but there is enough evidence to suggest that the team is capable of making it to the playoffs.
The RCB batters did an excellent job in the first match, crossing 200 quite comfortably on the back of a brilliant 57-ball 88 from the newly-appointed captain Faf du Plessis and contributions from Virat Kohli and Dinesh Kartik.
Hasaranga leading the pack
In their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders, their bowlers did a wonderful job of bowling out KKR for just 128. Wanindu Hasaranga was the wrecker-in-chief and took four poles while maintaining an economy rate of 5.00.
Akash Deep and Harshal Patel also shared 5 wickets between them. Their batting however was not up to scratch, but was rescued by Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik towards the end.
Kohli itching to go big
RCB are unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI and are looking quite strong this time around.
Big things are expected from Virat Kohli after having stepped down from captaincy. There have been glimpses of Kohli of the old in whatever little has been on show in the tournament till now. Faf du Plessis too is looking in rhythm and once Maxwell joins the team, they can turn out to be a nightmare for the opposition.
RR at their best
The same can be said about Rajasthan Royals who got off their IPL 2022 campaign to an explosive start with a 61-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad as the team posted in excess of 200.
They won their next match against Mumbai Indians quite comfortably as well, courtesy of a brilliant century from Jos Buttler. Yuzvendra Chahal then did the business with the ball.
Honestly, Rajasthan are looking in their best shape over the last five years or so.
