IPL 2023, Match 60, Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Bangalore demolish Rajasthan to keep hopes alive










Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their hopes of making the IPL 2023 playoffs alive with a massive 112 run win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday.
After opting to bat, Bangalore posted 171 for five in their 20 overs and in their response Rajasthan was bowled out for 59 in 10.3 overs.
Earlier, Bangalore started well with their skipper Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli putting on 50 in seven overs. Then du Plessis teamed up with Glenn Maxwell to add 69 runs for the second wicket. du Plessis made 55 off 44 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. Then Maxwell fell for 54 off 33 balls with five boundaries and three sixes. Towards the end Anuj Rawat used the long handle to good effect as he made an unbeaten 29 off just 11 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. Bangalore finished on 171 for five in their 20 overs. For Rajasthan the successful bowlers were Adam Zampa (2-25) and KM Asif (2-42).
In their response Rajasthan kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were reduced to seven for three. Then they kept losing wickets as they slipped to 31 for six in seven overs. Then there was a 19 run stand between Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin. Hetmyer struck four sixes to finish on 35 off 19 balls. Towards the end tail fail without a fight as they went from 50 for six to 59 all out in 10.3 overs. For Bangalore the best bowlers were Wayne Parnell (3-10), Michael Bracewell (2-16) and Karn Sharma (2-19).
