Ireland v Scotland - no result, rain

Ireland and Scotland suffered the first ever One-Day International abandonment in the United Arab Emirates due to rain as the ODI tri-series came to a damp closure in Dubai.

The no result meant that Ireland topped the table and claimed the tri-series title.

The two sides had hoped to get the decisive game in the tournament underway and a 20-over match was tentatively scheduled to begin.

However, further rain arrived shortly before the rescheduled start time leaving the match officials with no choice but to call the game off.

With a point apiece going to both sides, it left Ireland on top of the table with five points ahead of Afghanistan on four and Scotland on three.

All three sides will now move into the final stages of their Cricket World Cup 2015 preparations with Ireland heading to Sydney in early February.
