After seeing off the Trinbago Knight Riders, Jamaica Tallawahs complete their set of home matches by taking on 2014 champions Barbados Tridents in game 20 of the 2016 Caribbean Premier League.

That fine win, inspired by an all-round performance of note from Andre Russell, has moved the Tallawahs to the top of the table.

Before the series moves on to Saint Lucia and the Florida, Jamaica will have won last chance to impress their home fans and will be looking for a winning finish to what has been a good run of games.

Ahead of the game with Trinbago, we thought it might present a real test of Jamaica's strength in depth, and it was a test they comprehensively passed.

Even though Chris Gayle didn't score a run, contributions from Rovmon Powell and Russell helped them reach a winning score of 158 for seven.

Then, five of the six bowlers used took a wicket as they restricted a powerful batting line-up to 139 for nine in reply.

They will look to do the same against Barbados, who aren't short of dangerous batsmen themselves. The likes of AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard need little introduction but the recent form of Nicholas Pooran has been a revelation.

Meanwhile, they are relying on their experienced bowlers - Wayne Parnell, Ravi Rampaul, Robin Peterson and Shoaib Malik to get their wickets and much will be expected of them in this crunch encounter.

This is the second meeting between these two of the season although the first game was abandoned as a no result due to bad weather

On that occasion, Jamaica were off to a flyer and well placed at 116 for two in 10 overs. They would love to repeat that, but Barbados won't make it easy for them at all.
