James Bruce Penalised Under ECB Discipline Code

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Hampshire cricketer, James Bruce, has received three penalty points under the ECB’s discipline code following an incident during Hampshire’s LV County Championship match against Durham on 15-18 June 2007. Bruce was reported by Umpires Barrie Leadbeater and Neil Mallender for a Level Two breach of the code (causing avoidable damage to the pitch that results in a 5-run penalty being awarded). The penalty points remain on Bruce’s record for a period of 2 years. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any 2-year period will result in an automatic suspension. © ECB
