Jesse Ryder Back For Final One Day International
New Zealand Cricket have decided that sitting out the fourth One Day International against West Indies as well as a fine was adequate punishment for a late night drinking session and have recalled him for the final match in Napier.
Ryder, who had opened the batting in the first three matches, was dropped for the washed out match in Auckland, and he replaces Mathew Sinclair, who was brought in as his replacement for the third match.
"Jesse is a match-winner opening the batting," coach Andy Moles said. "He and Brendon (McCullum) are a formidable pair.
"Jesse assures us it's a thing of the past and we have to move on with that in mind," Moles added.
Moles said that he had no doubts about recalling Ryder at the earliest possible opportunity for the match, which is a series decider with the series tied at 1-1 after two washouts.
