Kadeer Ali is returning to Worcestershire CCC as the club’s newly appointed Second Eleven Coach.

The 36-year-old, a Level Four Coach, will take up his post in November when the players report back for pre-season training.

Kadeer, the elder brother of England and Worcestershire all-rounder Moeen Ali, has most recently been a Development Coach with the Warwickshire CCC pathway.

The Moseley born player made his debut in senior cricket for Worcestershire in 2000 and also had spells with Gloucestershire and Leicestershire, scoring 5003 first class and 1817 List A runs.

Kadeer has also been captaining Staffordshire in the Minor Counties this season.

Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Chairman, Paul Pridgeon, said: “We’ve had some high-quality candidates, guys with international and county first team experience.

“All-round, Kadeer ticked a lot of boxes, interviewed very well, and impressed everyone.  It was a unanimous decision to appoint him.

“He is an experienced coach who has been working with Warwickshire’s pathway and very highly thought of by Warwickshire.

“We also wanted someone with batting experience, who could also contribute towards the first team squad as a batting coach.

“We look forward to welcoming Kadeer back to Worcestershire CCC”
