Kane Richardson puts family first in decision to withdraw from IPL
Kane Richardson has given up a lucrative contract in the Indian Premier League to be with his wife Nyki for the birth of their first child, revealing today their new born is a boy.
Richardson has forgone a stint in the IPL while he prepares for Australia’s six game tour of the UK as part of the front line T20 fast bowling unit along with Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.
He has been an integral part of the men’s success in T20 cricket in the past 12 months, form which the side hopes to continue in the three game Vitality IT20 Series against England in Southampton.
Australia’s warm-up games have proven the ideal practice ahead of the opening match with centuries to Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey and Marnus Labuschagne. along with valuable time in the middle for the squad.
Australia plays England in the three-match Vitality IT20 Series beginning on Friday followed by the Royal London One-Day Series starting on September 11.
