Nottinghamshire were in deep trouble at 23-4 and it was mainly down to Skipper, Steven Mullaney 90, Billy Root 41 and Luke Fletcher 53* that Nottinghamshire managed any sort of a score. The pick of the Kent bowlers was Harry Podmore 4-57.
