Khadija Tul Kubra picked a four-wicket haul as Bangladesh Women successfully defended a total of 137 against South Africa Women in the third One-Day International in Cox's Bazar to secure a thrilling 10-run win.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first. Sharmin Sultana (21) and Sharmin Akhter (17) provided a solid opening stand of 42 runs.
Even though, Sanjida Islam (16), Rumana Ahmed (28) and Nigar Sultana (21) got starts, they failed to carry on as South Africa kept picking wickets at regular intervals to dismiss Bangladesh for 136 runs in 49 overs.
In the chase, Lizelle Lee (46) looked positive in her 31-ball knock but South Africa lost Andrie Steyn (0), Mignon du Preez (8), Chrloe Tryon (4) and Marizanne Kapp (4) in quick succession.
Dane van van Niekerk (42 not out) waged a lone fight at one but South Africa kept losing wickets and despite a 30-run stand for the final wicket, they succumbed to a 10-run defeat.
Despite, the defeat, South Africa lead the five-match series 2-1 with Kubra bagging the player of the match award.
