Sri Lanka will miss the services of swashbuckling opening batsman Kusal Perera for the first two games of the One-Day International series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old suffered the blow while playing in the warm-up game for Sri Lanka Board President XI against Bangladesh which his team went on to win by a slender two-run margin while defending 355 runs.

During the innings, Perera smashed a 78-ball 64 before retiring hurt at the end of the 29th over. He was earlier dropped in the limited overs series against South Africa and Australia with Niroshan Dickwella being the preferred option.

The selectors are expected to name the replacement for Perera on Friday.
