Match Preview

Three matches down, both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals are yet to experience a victory in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The two Royals, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, will lock horns at Rajasthan's fortress at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Twice in three matches, RCB's batting has failed to deliver and collapsed. While their collapse in the opening match can be attributed to the pitch, the wicket had no such demons in the last match when they got folded up for just 113 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Under tremendous pressure to chase down 232, Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen tried to sing at every ball and as a result the wickets kept coming. The only notable contribution came from all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme lower down the order.

Earlier, all RCB bowlers went for a lot of runs as Jonny Bairstow and David Warner cruised to their respective centuries. Despite conceding runs at more than nine runs per over, Moeen Ali and Mohammed Siraj were the most economical bowlers for RCB in the last match.

Rajasthan Royals suffered a defeat in the last match against Chennai Super Kings despite top bowling efforts from Jofra Archer and Shreyas Gopal on a ground where it was difficult to grip the ball. Rahul Tripathi, Steven Smith and Ben Stokes got starts but could not convert them into matching-wiining performances. Jofra Archer raised hopes with an 11-ball 24 but the team ultimately fell short by 8 runs.

Both teams are struggling a bit and would like to gain some momentum going forward.

Probable playing XI of both teams.

Rajasthan Royals- Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Steven Smith, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni

Royal Challengers Bangalore- Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shimron Hetmyer, Colin de Grandhomme, Shivam Dube, Prayas Barman, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav
