Match Preview

Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will lock horns on Delhi's home turf at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

After losing the first few matches, both Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians have fought back and have risen through the points table with five wins out of eight each. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are placed at the second and third spot in the points table respectively.

The Mumbai bowling did well in bits and pieces in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. While RCB were in a dominant position at one point, Mumbai, courtesy of Lasith Malinga's four wickets and Jasprit Bumrah super economical bowling, pulled the scoring rate back. Lasith Malinga replaced the injured Alzarri Joseph in the team and made an instant impact.

Mumbai Indians' openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock could not repeat their heroics of the 96-run partnership in the previous match but that did well by putting up a 70-run stand which acted as a firm base.

It was Hardik Pandya's 16-ball 37 which included five fours and two sixes that took Mumbai home with relative ease. Pandya slammed two sixes and two fours in the penultimate over bowled by Pawan Negi as Mumbai won the match by five wickets.

This is in unknown territory for Delhi Capitals as far as the last few IPL seasons are concerned. They are comfortably placed at the second spot and have a good opening pair in Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan, followed by the fire-power of either of Colin Munro or Colin Ingram, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and Chris Morris.

Keemo Paul and Kagiso Rabada won them the last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Axar Patel, Amit Mishra and Ishant Sharma provide Delhi with Indian bowling options.

Probable playing XI of both teams.
