Match Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore had a terrible start to their IPL season as they got bundled out for just 70 runs in the IPL opener against Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai, on the other hand, also suffered a loss in their first match but fought harder. Although the margin of their defeat was more than 20 runs, the team was successful in scoring more than 190 runs with impressive knocks from Quinton de Kock and Yuvraj Singh.

Mumbai will take a lot of confidence from the last match against Delhi capitals because even though they lost the match, there were some sparks of brilliance on display.

However, the bad news for them was that Jasprit Bumrah jerked his shoulder and did not come out to bat. The extent of his injury is yet to be known but his inclusion in Mumbai's playing XI is not a certainty, especially given that there are just a couple of months left in the ODI World Cup.

Skipper Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel are the openers for Royal Challengers Bangalore while Moeen Ali and AB de Villiers are slotted at number 3 and 4 respectively. Big-hitting Windies batter Shimron Hetmyer will bat at number 5.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Umesh Yadav should be their leading bowlers.

The onus will be on Rohit Sharma to get off Mumbai to a good start along with Quinton de Kock. The team has four all-rounders in Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ben Cutting and Kieron Pollard which gives them great balance.

Probable playing XIs of both teams.
