The Lord's Taverners, the leading youth cricket and disability sports charity in the UK, has launched the 'Sporting Chance Awards' and nominations for this year's awards are already open.

The awards will celebrate the sporting achievements of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with disabilities as well as honouring those individuals, clubs and programmes that enable young people to enjoy sport.

The nominations are open for the first awards later this year and cover any sport - not just cricket - and the eight award categories include:

  • Junior of the Year
  • Community Impact
  • Team of the Year
  • Greatest Personal Development
  • Service to Sport
  • Lifetime Contribution

The winners will be announced at the Sporting Chances Awards lunch on 11th September at Mansion House, London.
