Madsen, Henry help Derbyshire outclass Leicestershire by seven wickets
Derbyshire 107-3 (Madsen 49no) beat
Leicestershire 104-9 (Henry 3-18) by seven wickets
North Group, Natwest T20 Blast, Derby
After Derbyshire restricted Leicestershire to 104 for nine in the 20 overs, Wayne Madsen led the chase with an unbeaten 49 run knock as the home side completed a seven wicket victory in the Natwest T20 Blast North Group encounter in Derby.
Derbyshire won the toss and decided to bowl first. Hardus Viljoen (1-20) and Madsen (1-22) started the innings exceedingly well as Leicester could manage only 29 for two inside the powerplay.
Cameron Delport (21) tried to held one end up with his sluggish 23-ball innings but Leicestershire hardly gained any momentum in the innings with only three batsmen managing to cross double digits.
Henry (3-18) and Imran Tahir (2-20) stepped up the pressure as Derbyshire managed to keep down Leicestershire to 104 for nine in the 20 overs.
In the chase, Billy Godleman (10) and Luis Reece (1) fell early and Matthew Critchley (0) was retired hurt as Derbyshire were put in a spot of bother but Madsen (49 not out) and Alex Hughes (36 not out) ensured the hosts completed the chase in just 13.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.
