Match Prediction Dream11 Super Smash 2019-20 - Auckland v Canterbury

Martin Guptill in action for New Zealand

The 5th match of the Super Smash 2019-20 will be played between Auckland and Canterbury at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

Auckland kicked off their Super Smash 2019-2020 campaign with a match against Otago on their home ground at the Eden Park Outer Oval. The team's bowlers were not up to the mark as they conceded as many as 210 runs to Otago.

William Somerville and Kyle Jamieson were the main culprits, each of whom went at more than 10 runs per over. Mitchell McClenaghan picked up two wickets but he too conceded runs at 9.50.

Auckland batsmen then came out all guns blazing with Martin Guptill and Glenn Phillips standing out. After Guptill was dismissed for 46, Philips carried on to score an unbeaten ton. However, the total was still out of their grasp as they fell short by 13 runs.

Likewise, Canterbury also did not have the best of starts and lost their first match by 6 wickets against Wellington. The team, batting first at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, after an opening stand of 34 between openers Chad Bowes with Jack Boyle, kept losing regular wickets.

Skipper Cole McConchie tried his best with figures of 4-18-3 but that total was not sufficient to defend as the team lost with more than an over remaining.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:

Auckland - Colin Munro, Martin Guptill, Glenn Phillips (wk), Mark Chapman, Craig Cachopa (c), Corey Anderson, Sean Solia, Ronnie Hira, William Somerville, Mitchell McClenaghan, Kyle Jamieson

Canterbury - Chad Bowes, Stephen Murdoch, Cole McConchie (c), Andrew Ellis, Cam Fletcher (wk), Henry Shipley, Jack Boyle, Blake Coburn, Leo Carter, Will Williams, Ed Nuttall
