McGrath Tempted To Play In Indian Cricket League

Retired Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath has revealed that he is tempted to take part in the breakaway Indian Cricket League, which is due to start in October. The organisers have already enlisted Brian Lara and have targeted other high profile names with Shane Warne and Stephen Fleming amongst those reported to have been approached. McGrath, who has not yet signed any contract with the league, told reporters, "It's tempting. Obviously, you can make a little bit of money. Probably a month of cricket, get back, give me that fix of playing again - it might be all I need." Despite the Indian and Pakistan boards banning their contracted players from taking part in the series, the organisers remain confident that they will attract the right calibre of player for the Twenty20 tournament. Dean Jones, who has been involved with recruiting players, said, "The fans and the viewers will be quite happy with the signings we'll get, trust me." © Cricket World 2007
