Meg Lanning speaks after Australia win the ICC Women’s World T20
The Australian Women's Cricket Team claimed its fourth ICC World Twenty20 title in Antigua tonight, defeating England by eight wickets.
Australia put on an impressive display with the ball, restricting England to 105. Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham (2-11) was on fire with a run out and two wickets, while fellow spinner Ashleigh Gardner (3-22) picked up three wickets.
Australia set about the chase, losing just two wickets as it reached the target in the 16th over. Gardner (33*) led the way with the bat in an all-round Player of the Match performance, while Meg Lanning (28*) and Player of the Tournament Alyssa Healy (22) also played key roles.
