Meg Lanning Speaks After T20 Win

Australia claimed a comprehensive 98-run victory against a Cricket Australia (CA) XI in their Twenty20 encounter at Sydney Showgrounds Stadium tonight.

Batting first Australia lost opener Alyssa Healy (7) early before Lanning (93*) strode the crease, pairing up with Beth Mooney to take the total to 76 before the latter fell to Hannah Darlington (1-26).

Lanning then combined with Ellyse Perry (65), the duo putting on 108 runs and helping Australia to 3-184.

In reply the CA XI lost Josie Dooley (0) on just the second ball of the innings with Bridget Patterson (2) falling three overs later.

Opener Tahlia McGrath attempted to get her side back on track with a patient 22, but the wickets continued to fall around her as Schutt (1-1) and Perry (1-3) made the going tough.

Hannah Darlington showed plenty fight in her 34-ball 39 but again she lacked support, the CA XI reaching 9-86 after 20 overs.

Leg-spinner Georgia Wareham (3-14) finished with three wickets, while Nicola Carey (1-10) and Sophie Molineux (1-9) also claimed wickets.
