Middlesex win nail-biter at Sophia Gardens Cardiff against Glamorgan

Middlesex won by just 2 runs in a nail-biting finish at Sophia Gardens having been put in to bat first by Glamorgan.

Middlesex 304-6 (James Franklin 62*, Eoin Morgan 57, Nick Gubbins 53; Colin Ingram 3-24, Marchant De Lange 3-65)

Glamorgan 302-9 (David Lloyd 92; Ravi Patel 3-58)

Result - Middlesex beat Glamorgan by 2 runs

Middlesex batsmen James Franklin 62*, Eoin Morgan 57, and Nick Gubbins 53 were the mainstay of the innings and managed to get Middlesex to 302 in their 50overs in this Royal London One Day Cup tie. Colin Ingram 3-24 and Marchant De Lange 3-65 were the pick of the Glamorgan bowlers.

Batting second, Glamorgan came really close to winning , falling just 2 runs short. David Lloyd hit a career best 92 in the chase and Ravi Patel 3-58, the Middlesex spinner was the pick of their bowlers.

Colin Ingram, the Glamorgan captain commented on  BBC Sport Wales after the game:"It's tough to swallow but I can't fault the guys' effort,"

"So really disappointed to lose but happy with the improvements we've made and the effort the guys are putting in."
