South Africa Women 251-7 (du Preez 79) beat
Bangladesh Women 157 (Hoque 67) by 94 runs
Fourth One-Day International in Cox's Bazar
After a spirited 79 from Mignon du Preez allowed South Africa Women post 251 for seven, a collective effort from the bowlers saw them dismiss Bangladesh Women to 157, thereby winning the third One-Day International in Cox's Bazar by 94 runs to claim the series 3-1.
South Africa won the toss and opted to field first. Lizelle Lee (28) and Andrie Steyn (14) gave a start of 38 runs but a double strike saw them reeling at 46 for two.
A 74-run stand from du Preez (79) and Chloe Tryon (47) stabilised the innings but Tul Kubra's (3-48) three-wicket haul and Rumana's (2-30) double strike meant, South Africa ended their innings at 251 for seven in the 50 overs.
Sharmin Sultana (1) and Sharmin Akhter (14) fell early in the chase while Rumana (0) and Nigar Sultana (7) failed to make any significant contribution.
At 41 for four, Fargana Hoque (67) and Salma Khatun (30) tried to put on a fight but they were eventually bowled out for 157.
The 94-run win allowed the visitors to win the series 2-1 and du Preez bagged the player of the match award.
