Mitchell Marsh to remain with Perth Scorchers
Perth Scorchers' title defence in the upcoming season of Big Bash League 2017/18 season has received a big boost with all-rounder Mitchell Marsh opting to stay with the club.
Marsh has been part of the franchise since the tournament inception in 2011 and has played 25 games, scoring 735 runs in it at an average of 40.83.
In the previous season alone, the recently appointed Western Australian skipper amassed 210 runs from five games at an average of 70 and picked three wickets as well.
The 25-year-old is currently recovering from a shoulder surgery that he sustained during the Test series in India earlier this year but is expected to be available for the season opener Melbourne Renegades on 21st December.
"I literally cannot wait for Big Bash to start," Marsh told perthscorchers.com.au.
"My body and shoulder feel really good, I’ve been taking it slowly but ticking all the right boxes so it’ll be good to get back out there.
"The BBL has grown into an amazing tournament.
"Playing with the Scorchers for the last six years, we’ve had some awesome success and we’re hoping we can maintain that winning culture this summer, too."
The tournament will kick off on 19th December with the final scheduled to be played on 4th February 2018.
