New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan will not be a part of the One-Day International series against India to be played in October after having failed to recover in time from his pelvis injury.

McClenaghan suffered a stress fracture to his pelvis while playing for Middlesex in the NatWest Twenty20 Blast in June and was expected to be sidelined for about six weeks.

A spokesperson for New Zealand Cricket told ESPNcricinfo that McClenaghan is recovering well but he will not be a part of the tour of India.

“Mitch is out with a pelvis injury which he suffered earlier in the year.

“He is recovering well but won't be available for the coming tour.”

The 30-year-old earlier suffered a hairline fracture above his left eye, but he recovered to take part in the 2016 ICC World T20.

From the 48 ODIs he has played so far after making his debut in 2013, McClenaghan has 82 wickets at an average of 28.20 including six four-wicket hauls along with a five-wicket haul.
