Mitchell Starc To Miss Three Weeks Of Indian Premier League
Dynamic Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is set to miss the first three weeks of the Indian Premier League due to a knee injury.
The left-arm pacer who was the player of the tournament in the 2015 World Cup had experienced a soreness in his knee during the latter stages of the showpiece event.
With a tour of West Indies and the important Ashes tour coming up Cricket Australia have decided not to risk any of their premier bowlers.
Starc will join his contracted IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) half-way through the tournament before leaving for national duty.
The 24-year-old had a terrific World Cup picking 22 wickets from eight matches at an incredible average of 10.18.
After a fantastic summer with the ball that saw him account for 42 wickets in just 13 One-Day Internationals, Starc is now ranked number one in the latest ODI bowler rankings released by the International Cricket Council.
Starc who made his IPL debut last season represented RCB in 14 matches picking up 14 wickets at an average of 28.71.
