Second Twenty20 International, Melbourne

Mithali Raj led the way as India Women beat Australia Women by 10 wickets in the rain-affected second Twenty20 International to take an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

Australia batted first and managed to reach 125 for eight in 18 overs with captain Meg Lanning top scoring with 49.

The rain that shortened the home side's innings then left India a Duckworth/Lewis target of 69 in 10 overs.

Raj stuck 37 not out in 32 balls and Smriti Mandhana was unbeaten on 22 as they reached their target with five balls to spare.

Jhulan Goswami (2-16), Rajeshwari Gaekwad (2-27), Poonam Yadav (1-17) and Harmanpreet Kaur (1-2) had earlier taken wickets to peg Australia back.

Lanning struck three fours and two sixes in her 39-ball innings but lacked support with Jess Jonassen's 27 the only other score of note.

India won the opening match in Adelaide by five wickets and now head to the final game in Sydney on 31st January chasing a clean sweep.
