England all-rounder Moeen Ali who is back from injury has been added to the squad for the final two Tests against West Indies.

Ali will join the squad on Saturday after having missed the first Test due to a side strain sustained in the recently concluded World Cup.

While speculations are rife on Ali replacing leg-spinner Adil Rashid, a final decision will be taken after assessing the former’s bowling fitness.

On his return to competitive cricket, Ali compiled a neat half-century for Worcestershire without any discomfort but only bowled 11 overs in the match.

Although a detailed analysis by the England and Wales Cricket Board medical team has found Ali fully fit, concerns linger over his bowling ability which could determine Rashid’s presence in the squad considering England’s lack of spin options.

England’s other spinner James Tredwell made a strong comeback in the ongoing Test in Antigua by claiming career-best figures of 4-47.

Ali cemented his place as England’s specialist spinner in the home series against India last year when he snared 19 wickets with his off-breaks.

Having compiled a gritty century against Sri Lanka early last year, Ali has thereafter had a moderate time in Test cricket with the willow having a career average of 31 from seven Tests.

The second Test between England and West Indies will kick-off on 21st April in Grenada.
