Munsey and Hairs score centuries as Scotland Xi beat Durham XI
Centuries from Oli Hairs and George Munsey led a Scotland XI to a convincing victory over a Durham XI in a 50 over match at Gateshead Fell.
The Scots set a formidable target of 455 for Durham with Hairs, opening the batting, scoring 104 off 70 balls while Munsey kept up the pace with 137 off 79 balls. Dylan Budge narrowly missed a century ending the innings on 95 not out.
The young Durham side could not match the Scots with the bat and lost their first three wickets for 17 runs before being bowled out for 98 giving Scotland a 357 run victory.
Safyaan Sharif took 3/20 with Adrian Neill and Hamza Tahir both taking two wickets as Scotland made short work of their opponents.
Scotland Head Coach Shane Burger said: “I’m incredibly pleased with the performance and were thoroughly professional in every aspect of the game.”
