United Arab Emirates 221 (Mustafa 95) beat
Papua New Guinea 113 (Naveed 5-28) by 56 runs DLS method

Rohan Mustafa led from the front with a 95 run knock while Mohammad Naveed picked a five-wicket haul as United Arab Emirates kick-started their ICC World Cup Qualifiers with 56 run victory by DLS method against Papua New Guinea in Harare.
PNG won the toss and opted to bowl first. The platform was laid by Mustafa (95) and Ashfaq Ahmed (50) as they shared a 91 run stand in 18 overs. Ahmed completed his half-century off 54 deliveries but fell shortly after that.
Alei Nao (2-42) produced a double strike while Norman Vanua (4-39) effected a couple of run outs and also cleaned the lower order but Mustafa held one end up and went on to score 95 before he perished in the 46th over.
UAE were bowled out for 221 runs in 49.4 overs with Vanua being the pick of the bowlers for PNG along with Nao.
The chase was reduced to 28 overs for PNG with a revised target of 170 runs. But they were blown away early by Naveed (5-28) as Vani Morea (12), Lega Siaka (0), Assad Vala (2) and Sese Bau (0) in the first five overs and were reduced to 23 for four.
From there on PNG hardly showed any resilience and were bowled out for 113 runs in the 26th over allowing UAE to complete a 56-run victory by DLS method. Naveed was awarded the man of the match with a five-wicket haul.
