New South Wales romp home by 6 wickets against Queensland in JLT Cup
Queensland won the toss and decided to bat against New South Wales at the Drummoyne Oval, Sydney, today in the JLT Cup.
Queensland 296 (Chris Lynn 135, Sam Heazlett 48; Chris Green 5-53)
New South Wales 300-4 (Moises Henriques 134*, Jack Edwards 116)
Result – New South Wales won by 6 wickets
Queensland were all out for 296 with nearly 3 overs left and will have been disappointed not to have scored a lot more, after the excellent batting of Chris Lynn 135, Sam Heazlett 48 and Joe Burns 30, gave them a strong platform from which to push on to a big score. However, some great bowling from Chris Green 5-53 took the Queensland middle order away.
In reply, New South Wales romped home by 6 wickets mainly thanks to Moises Henriques 134* and Jack Edwards 116, who batted brilliantly.A day to remember for 18-year-old Jack Edwards - the youngest man to score a ton in the domestic one-day cup.
