New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by 35 runs in only T20I
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland today in the only T20I match of the tour.
New Zealand 179 – 7 (Ross Taylor 33, Doug Bracewell 44, Scott Kuggeleijn 35*; Lasith Malinga 2-24, Kasun Rajitha 3-44)
Sri Lanka 144 (Thisara Perera 43; Lockie Ferguson 3-23, Ish Sodhi 3-30)
Result - New Zealand won by 35 runs

At one stage, New Zealand were in serious trouble at 55-5 after 10 overs. However, Ross Taylor 33, Doug Bracewell 44 and Scott Kuggeleijn 35* smashed it for the remaining over, giving the Kiwis a respectable 179 – 7 off their 20 overs - Lasith Malinga 2-24 and Kasun Rajitha 3-44 were the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers.
In reply, Sri Lanka were again not really in the run chase and were bowled out 35 runs short of their target. Thisara Perera top scored with 43 and Lockie Ferguson 3-23 and Ish Sodhi 3-30 were the pick pf the Kiwi bowlers.
