Otago batsman Neil Broom has been recalled into the New Zealand One-Day International squad after a gap of over six years for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh.

The 33-year-old last appearance for the Black Caps was in March 2010 in the home series against Australia and has played 22 matches so far scoring 333 runs at an average of 17.

Broom had signed a two-year deal with Derbyshire in 2015 but is now expected to leave the second year unfulfilled in a bid to revive his international career. He has taken the place of Henry Nicholls, who played just one game in the series against Australia.

Apart from Nicholls, BJ Wattling and Todd Astle are also excluded from the squad that featured in the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy recently.

Wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi makes a comeback into the squad and will take don the role behind the stumps while Ross Taylor, who recently underwent an eye surgery will continue to remain on the sidelines.

New Zealand and Bangladesh will play three ODIs and as many Twenty20 Internationals which will be followed by a two-match Test series as well between 26th December and 24th January.
