New Zealand are touring Australia to participate in a 3 match ODI series starting on the 6th of September. The last ODI will be played on the 11th September 2022.

The 3 match ODI series was earlier scheduled to take place earlier this year but was post-poned due to quarantine restrictions.

The winner of the series will hold on to the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy.

All of the matches will be hosted by the Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns, Australia.

Mark Henry is making a return to the national side while Ish Sodhi misses out on the 3 match ODI series. Another youngster Ben Sears has retained his spot in the squad for the Australia tour.

According to the head coach Gary Stead, "The inclusion of Ben Sears is a nod to the future, and we also think his pace and bounce could be a good option in Australian conditions".

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is making a comeback into the fold as well. He is looking forward to the upcoming Australian tour. He said, "It’s a great rivalry we have with Australia; it’s always a huge occasion for the fans, and the team really look forward to it. You grow up watching the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy series and remembering the great battles, so to be part of another chapter is pretty special. We know how tough Australia are to beat in their own conditions, and we’re looking forward to the challenge".

According to the statistics, Australia hold an advantage over New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee battles. Australia have a 6-4 win record against New Zealand in the Chappell-Hadlee competition.
