New Zealand dismissed Sri Lanka for 196 on the final day of the second and final Test in Wellington to wrap up a 193-run win at the Basin Reserve and a 2-0 series victory.
Sri Lanka began the day at 45 for one, chasing a target of 390 to win, but fell well short as off-spinner Mark Craig took four wickets.
Trent Boult and Doug Bracewell took two apiece and Tim Southee one as the only prolonged resistance came from Kaushal Silva (50) and Lahiru Thirimanne (62 not out).
New Zealand won the opening Test by eight wickets and both sides will now turn their attentions to one-day cricket with the first of seven One-Day Internationals on Saturday 10th January.
