It seemed like a good decision as they kept Nottinghamshire to a lowly 202 all out, mainly due to excellent bowling by England all-rounder Moeen Ali (4-3). The Nottinghamshire opener Riki Wessels (50)and Ross Taylor (47) were the main run scorers for the home side.
Nottinghamshire 202 ( Riki Wessels 50, Ross Taylor 47; Moeen Ali 4-33)
Worcestershire 164: (Daryl Mitchell 62, Luke Fletcher 4-20)
Result -Nottinghamshire won by 38 runs
However, it was the Nottinghamshire pacer, Luke Fletcher that grabbed the headlines with 20 valuable runs at the end of their innings and then a career best 4-20, in limited overs cricket, reducing Worcestershire to 164 all out in reply – only Daryl Mitchell (62) putting up any resistance to the Notts bowlers.
