Nottinghamshire take the honours against table toppers Worcestershire
Worcestershire won the toss and decided to field at Trent Bridge, Nottingham today in their Royal London One Day Cup tie today.
It seemed like a good decision as they kept Nottinghamshire to a lowly 202 all out, mainly due to excellent bowling by England all-rounder Moeen Ali (4-3). The Nottinghamshire opener Riki Wessels (50)and Ross Taylor (47) were the main run scorers for the home side.
Nottinghamshire 202 ( Riki Wessels 50, Ross Taylor 47; Moeen Ali 4-33)
Worcestershire 164: (Daryl Mitchell 62, Luke Fletcher 4-20)
Result -Nottinghamshire won by 38 runs
However, it was the Nottinghamshire pacer, Luke Fletcher that grabbed the headlines with 20 valuable runs at the end of their innings and then a career best 4-20, in limited overs cricket, reducing Worcestershire to 164 all out in reply – only Daryl Mitchell (62) putting up any resistance to the Notts bowlers.
