Old Owens was a sports club that was originally established for the past pupils of Dame Alice Owen's School.
Since then it has gone on to become one of the leading sports clubs open to all the public in the potters bar area.
Originally they club had been based in Chandos Avenue, Whetstone, however since its relocation in 1988 it now resides at its current home at Coopers Lane, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN6 4NF.
The aim of Old Owens is to provide outstanding facilities to its any members of the public looking to play Cricket in and around Hertfordshire.
The ground covers some three acres and provides facilities and social events for all Sports clubs and members. The excellent condition of the ground is reflected in the high marks we receive from our League Facilities marks each Season and is considered to be one of the best grounds in all of Hertfordshire.
Now in its 90th Year as a Cricket Club, the club has three Saturday teams and one Sunday team and is registered to the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket league.
Old Owens 1st XI will play in Division 2 of the SHCL, the 2nd XI in Division 7 and the 3rd XI in Division 13. In addition to Saturday League cricket, the 1st XI also takes part in the Hertfordshire Country trophy on a Sunday.
Old Owens Colt Section has been in a period of decline in recent years due to dwindling numbers. However 2014 looks to see the Colt section on the up again with 4 age groups now playing competitive matches in Hertfordshire. These age groups are U8’s, U10’s, U11’s and U12’s.
The Colts play in the Hertfordshire Colts Competition with continued great success and we are very proud of everything that they already have and continue to achieve.
