Ollie Rayner Signs New Contract With Sussex

Sussex all-rounder Ollie Rayner has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club for another two years. Rayner, 22, was pressed into first team action after Mushtaq Ahmed's retirement, and he took 31 County Championship wickets in 2008 to finish as Sussex's third leading wicket-taker in the competition. German-born Rayner was also named in the England Performance Squad which will tour India in November and December. Mark Robinson, Professional Cricket Manager, said: "We’re delighted that Ollie has agreed to see his immediate future with us after such a promising season. Ollie’s one of our own and now has the opportunity to further cement his place in the team." © Cricket World 2008
