Oman kick off pentangular series with 7-wicket win over Hong Kong
Oman did not sweat a lot in chasing down the total with 30s from opener Khawar Ali and skipper Zeeshan Maqsood.
Hong Kong 96-9
Oman won by 7 wickets
Playing the first match of the pentangular series against Hong Kong, Oman won the toss and opted to bat first. They got off to a decent start with 30 runs on the board without any loss.
However, things started going down south from there on. After opening batsman Nizakat Khan was dismissed for 17, there was a flurry of run-outs in the middle order which really cost Hong Kong momentum.
Opener Ahsan Abbasi, Kinchit Shah, Shahid Wasif and Waqas Barkat all lost their wickets due to clumsiness in running between the wickets. A 19-run hand from her Haroon Arshad down the order helped Hong Kong to not get bowled out and play their full quota of overs.
However, they managed only 96 runs. Mohammad Nadeem was the pick of the bowlers for Oman and picked up two wickets while Bilal Khan, Aamir Kaleem and Khawar Ali picked up one wicket each.
Oman did not sweat a lot in chasing down the total with 30s from opener Khawar Ali and skipper Zeeshan Maqsood. The match was over with more than 6 overs remaining as Oman registered a comprehensive 7-wicket win.
